Why cookbooks have a special place in my bookshelf

Today I want to talk about why cookbooks have a special place in my bookshelf. The reason I buy them, and what what I look for when deciding to buy one. I know I know! I am a blogger who shares her recipes online, so why would I suggest buying a cookbook. That’s what I used to think too till I invested in my first cookbook, and from then I got addicted, and my wallet started complaining (a LOT). A…

A visit to Neco’s Natural Cafe and Store

A visit to Necos Natural Cafe & Store at Bukhari Commercial, Karachi to try their wholesome and healthy food. Our favorites were the spinach and artichoke dip, the special pizza and the fish in lemongrass. A few days ago, I was invited for a food tasting at Neco’s Natural Store and Cafe with two other friends. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I am a fan of Neco’s (remember that Twix cheesecake).…

Mocca Coffee – Islamabad’s premium coffee house comes to Karachi

With one outlet in Islamabad and three in Lahore, Mocca Coffee is the latest entrant in the sea of coffee shops in Karachi. Their outlet is located at Khayaban-e-Shahbaz right next to Gymboree. Here is the Google maps link for reference. My husband and I, being avid foodies, decided to check the place out a few days ago. The minimalistic interior of the café is inspired from Scandinavian architecture. The walls are painted off-white with wooden accents around and food…

Just recently they launched their new outlet at Dolmen Mall Clifton which I was waiting eagerly to go too. The outlet is located at the ground floor next to Espresso -this info is IMPORTANT because we went to the…

A leisurely breakfast at Cafe Aylanto

Cafe Aylanto is one of my favorite places to hang out with friends – the food is good but it’s the peace & quiet that appeals to me more. One can sit inside or outside. One can finish their meal in an hour or sit for a few hours and catching up on old times. One can actually hear the other person – no crazy loud music and the tables are far enough that the gossip is only retained to…

Desserts by The Saucy Mistress

Ordering some desserts from The Saucy Mistress … Anyone who is active on social media & Facebook must have heard of ‘The Saucy Mistress’. As if her scrumptious desserts weren’t enough her witty remarks and sarcastic sense of humor will make anyone cheer up. I remember discovering her page in 2013. At that time she did dips & dressings & cooking sauces and I remember being so impressed with not just her line of products but the way she described…

Cookie Cups by Karamel

I am a person who prefers to eat at home most of the time and I can sometimes be quite finicky when eating out / ordering in. The reason being that I inevitably compare the price I pay versus not just with the quality & taste of the food but also the fact that I can potentially make it at home at a fraction of the cost. So if I order in or eat out at a restaurant multiple times,…
